The success of hosting Wafcon in Morocco earns them a repeat performance for 2024

August 11 – Morocco will host the Women's Africa Cup for the second consecutive time in 2024 following a decision by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) executive committee.

The Moroccans hosted this year's tournament, reaching the final before losing to South Africa, who claimed a maiden title. It was the first time that a North African country hosted the competition. The organization was considered a success in terms of matchday operations, attendance, quality of play and media exposure.

With CAF President Patrice Motsepe calling it "the best women's AFCON in history", the confederation quickly decided to re-award the hosting rights for the next tournament to the Kingdom, without too much bidding process.

The 2022 Women's Africa Cup of Nations was held at three venues in Casablanca and Rabat and for the first time was expanded to a 12-team format.

It is unclear if other nations have bid or expressed interest in hosting the tournament.

The 2024 tournament will be the 15th edition of the Women's Africa Cup of Nations, first staged in 1991.
