The disappearance of Nadine Dorries mocked her long outing

Missing Tory MP Nadine Dorries was mocked for her peerage 'strop' as Labor demanded to know why Rishi Sunak didn't kick her out.

The former Culture Secretary hasn't spoken in the Commons for over a year and has only attended for five days in the last 12 months.

Last month she announced she would stand down with immediate effect after being snubbed for a peerage, but has yet to do so, leaving voters in her Mid Bedfordshire in limbo.

It emerged that Cabinet Secretary Simon Case had sought legal advice after Ms Dorries sent 'strong' messages to senior officials. These included threats to use her TV show and platform in the Commons to find out why she was left off Boris Johnson's honors list, MPs heard.

Rishi Sunak is under pressure to act and Labor has taunted the government over Ms Dorries' actions.

It comes after it emerged the former cabinet member - one of Boris Johnson's few remaining allies - has written a bombshell book set to be published days before the Tory party conference.

She will claim that the "dark forces" are responsible for the fall of Mr. Johnson.

In a heated exchange in the Commons, Labor's shadow leader in the House of Commons, Thangam Debbonaire, said: 'You wouldn't think so if you looked for her in Parliament, but she was very busy.< /p>

"She hasn't appeared here in over a year, but she's had time to present her own TV show, write her own column in the Daily Mail, I guess even write a book.

"Lots of things to do between the strops to be denied a peerage."
