Munya Chawawa on fame, political comedy and Zimbabwe

When you think of Munya Chawawa's comedy, politics and eyebrows probably come to mind.

The 29- Year-old parody news sketches have become a staple for many after taking off during the Covid lockdowns.

And he describes the last year as crazy".

But, although he is known for his funny political satire, he is now immersing himself in something which he describes as a little more serious.

He explored Zimbabwe - where he grew up - and Robert Mugabe, the independence icon of the country that has become an authoritarian ruler.

"The reason I did it is because that's where I come from," says Munya .

But he also wanted to "get a bit closer to myself for why I had to go to somewhere that felt like heaven", he told BBC Newsbeat.

"So I went back where I came from, to tell the story of what I think is one of the most beautiful places on Earth."
