Boris Johnson super fan Nadine Dorries will publish a book settling scores over his downfall just three days before the Tories' annual conference.

The former culture secretary - who was named in a bombshell report for trying to undermine the parliamentary inquiry into Partygate - continues to argue that the former prime minister was wrongfully sacked.

She claims the "darkest political arts" run through the Conservative party.

His book, titled The Plot, is described as a "story of betrayal and deceit" by publisher HarperCollins. She claims to have uncovered a 'fault line' and a 'history of deception' within the party as she goes after those she blames for Mr Johnson's sacking.

It is likely to make reading uncomfortable for Mr Sunak, whom Ms Dorries has repeatedly lambasted since her mentor's departure from No 10. According to a statement this morning, the book will tell how the "politician the most charismatic of his generation” was “removed from office” and is believed to be based on the testimony of “dozens of inside sources”.

Ms Dorries says 'powerful and irresponsible forces behind the scenes' are behind Mr Johnson's downfall.

The book should be published in September
