Nathan Fielder's The Rehearsal Featured Best TV Character of the Year

Angela's dream involves her raising children with a husband - this is the trip she "rehearses" for, as the series title suggests - so Angela goes to a few dates to see if any of her are dating her application matches would be a good fit for the experiment. This is where Robin comes in. The two meet on an app, then in person, and connect over their strong Christian beliefs, with Angela telling Fielder that she wants him to join her sim. When it comes time for her to ask him if he wants to spend the night, he agrees, although he says he needs to retrieve some things from his apartment. Fielder accompanies him, giving the audience a glimpse of the real Robbin, and it's spectacular.

He is not single. He looks at his phone on his lap while driving. He has three mattresses in his room. His car doesn't have a license plate, because he thinks a license plate is optional. Best of all, though, is that he's obsessed with so-called angel numbers (numbers where the digits repeat, like 88 for "new beginning") and talks about how he survived being crushed by his Scion tC at 100 miles per hour. Oh, and he also thinks his roommate, who tells him to relax with the angel number talk and recommends Robbin buy his own mayonnaise, is possessed by a demon.

Try to look surprised when I reveal it, but Robbin isn't spending the whole night at Angela's. After about three instances of Angela's robot baby waking him up (not to mention her telling him she won't have sex until she's married), Robbin decides to do the peace.
