2023: APC Rally support for Tinubu, Shettima to Osogbo
All Progressives Congress (APC) South West stakeholders on Saturday reiterated their commitment to victory for Bola Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima, in the 2023 presidential election.
They spoke at the inauguration of the meeting of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) Popular Engagement and Civic Orientation (South West), Saturday in Osogbo.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that committee members as well as APC members from Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ekiti and Ondo were present at the event.
Speaking at the inauguration, Governor Gboyega Oyetola said the Tinubu/Shettima ticket was powered by tested and trusted hands.
Oyetola urged committee members not to rest until the last person is mobilized for victory for Asiwaju/Shettima in the South West in the 2023 presidential election.
"This is a call to be part of history, a call to be part of creating the new nation we all desire and the future we seek for our children and our children's children. .
"I thank you all for your unrelenting passion, your boundless commitment, your unparalleled dedication, and your unparalleled sacrifice for the message of Renewed Hope that you believe in.
"This is an indication that you also believe in your homeland.
"The Tinubu/Shettima ticket is powered by tested and trusted hands and it offers renewed hope for all in all walks of life. It secures our today and secures our future.
“We are here to put the South West seal of excellence on a ticket that has been tested and proven to deliver excellence in the throes of economic downturns in the past,” he said.
In her address, South West Committee Director Ms. Titila Laoye Tomori-Ponnle said the committee members were determined to secure 90% of the South West votes for Tinubu.
Tomori-Ponnle said committee members across the Southwest would begin a door-to-door campaign in all units, neighborhoods in all local government areas in the area.
"I know that you are all ready to offer victory to the presidential candidate of the APC.
"I would like to urge you to work diligently to seek the support of Tinubu, which has the capacity to ensure good governance.
“Tinubu is a good product and it is an answer to our prayers. He did it in Lagos and he will do it again in the country,” she said.
Earlier, the Chairman of the APC in the state, Prince Gboyega Famodun, said that Tinubu had the ability and good health to be the next president of the country
Famodun urged all committee members and the South West APC at the grassroots level to campaign for Tinubu and her running mate, Shettima.
“Tinubu has the capacity and good health to be the next president of the country. He's been traveling the country for months now without fail.
"Once elected, the evil veil that is over our country will be lifted. He laid the foundation for Lagos State and he will do the same in Nigeria.
"I want to urge you to return to your base with this gospel. Introduce the Tinubu campaign to traditional chiefs and religious leaders across the state.
"What happens to us in this country can only be addressed by Asiwaju because of his ability," he said.
