2023 election: Enugu police and parties sign peace deal

Party candidates in Enugu State on Thursday signed a peace agreement to work towards peaceful, free, fair and credible elections.

Police Commissioner Ahmed Ammani said the signing of the pact was a sign of their sincere commitment to walk the path of peace.

He said that the candidates and their party leaders obeyed the applicable laws in the conduct of electoral activities before, during and after the ballot.

The CP added that the agreement had been signed and that the political platforms did not consider the 2023 elections as do-or-die.

“In every contest of this nature, there must be a winner and a loser. Note that this exercise is done in good faith and completely devoid of any form of coercion,” he said.
