Football fans in the Federal Capital Territory say they are confident that the Super Eagles will qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup from the African zone.

Fans speaking to Nigeria News Agency on Friday in Abuja said the team had the quality to qualify for the worlds.

A fan of the round leather game, Fidelis Onimisi, said that it was necessary to reposition the team and ensure that the best legs were selected.

"The Eagles have quality players; I think it is possible for them to be the first team to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in their group.

"We need to attract the best talent available in the world, they need to show commitment during the tournament," he said.

Another fan, Rakiyatu Mohammed, said proper preparations were essential for the country's flag to be flown during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

"For me what is most important is to get the ticket, no matter how, even if we don't play beautiful football, what is important is to get the ticket for the World Cup.

For his part, Dokoyari Abdulramah, called for a tighter attack by putting more prolific attackers in the lead to attack.

He added that if they play for the first 10 minutes and the formation doesn't work, they should be able to change quickly immediately.

For his part, Fafoluyi Oyeyemi urged Nigerians to support the Eagles in their quest to fly the country's flag at the world cup.

Another fan, Chibuzor Okoro, said their continued support and involvement would be vital as the Super Eagles work to strengthen ties ahead of the tournament.

"We want to believe that the Eagles have an incredible source of motivation and inspiration, we want them to appreciate the fans and the supporters," he said.

NAN reports that the Black Stars of Ghana have denied the Super Eagles the opportunity to play in the latest edition of the competition in Qatar.
