3 People Who Reported Fake News I Was Kidnapped Have Apologized – Delta CP

Delta State Police Commissioner CP Ari Muhammed Ali said today that three people who wrote that he was allegedly kidnapped in the remote state of Nasarawa have apologized to him.< /p>

The police chief revealed this in a telephone conversation with the DAILY POST correspondent in Warri.

CP Ali, who described the report about him as "false" and "malicious", said the suspects cooled their custody.

He said, "I haven't traveled anywhere. They have apologised. They are still in detention. I have sent my people to Abuja where they remain where they choose them."

CP Ali, who was bitter over the report, expressed sadness that it was published without verification by the editors. According to him, the suspects claimed to have heard of the report when they went to the state CID in Nasarawa.

CP Ali then presented DAILY POST with an apology letter allegedly written by the suspects.

Part of the letter reads: "I, Hamisu Inuwa aka "Mikiya", on behalf of Mikiya Online news and Facebook page @dandalin labarai, sincerely apologize for the false post posted by Mikiya Online news on November 8, 2022, stating that the Delta State Police Commissioner was allegedly abducted in Nasarawa.

"Not only has the report misled members of the public, but I know it must be a source of distress, injury and distraction to the Nigerian Police, the State Police Command of Delta, CP Ari Muhammed Ali, his family members and other supporters. I take responsibility and accept the consequences of my actions as editor of Mikiya's online news."

The suspects further admitted: "I cannot deny the fact that my actions were not only malicious, but can be seen as a deliberate attempt to mislead the public by defacing the image of a police officer renowned in the person of CP Ari Muhammed Ali.”
