1. Identify keywords in job descriptions

Indeed, a lot of recruiting professionals use software called Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) to weed out resumes in the first place. More than 98.8% of Fortune 500 companies use ATS, as do 66% of large enterprises and 35% of small organizations.

Paste a job description into ChatGPT, then ask them to tell you the three to five most important responsibilities. This will give you actionable keywords to include in your resume and keep you out of bots.

2. Customize your resume and cover letter

Yes, ChatGPT can also create custom versions of your CV, tailored to the job description. This is another important step to take as it elevates your CV from the basics and makes it highly relevant.

Do the following three things: Ask ChatGPT to "customize my resume for this position [Job Title] at [Company]". Then paste the job posting and paste your current CV. Take the time to edit the results so they're role-appropriate and personalized for you.
