Ernest Hemingway's famous Florida home is a mess of debris after Hurricane Ian's winds whipped it, but there's some very good news...all 59 cats living there are healthy and safe.

Alexa, a representative for the Hemingway House in Key West, told TMZ...the estate is coping with the aftermath of the hurricane, with staff cleaning up all tree and leaf debris caused by the storm in category 4.

Fortunately, the structures of the 1930s house do not appear to have been damaged...and we are told that the 59 cats that inhabit the property have all been found, and a feline fine.

The Hemingway House, where Ernest wrote about 70% of his published works, was well prepared for the hurricane...we are told the cats were sheltered on the property before the storm hit, some members of the staff remaining on site to take care of the felines.

Cats are a famous part of the Hemingway household...Ernest started the cat colony back when a sailor gave him a six-toed cat, and some of the cats that now live there are descendants direct .. . and all 59 cats are of the six-toed variety.
