A new store for Raquel Diniz in Milan and the Stella McCartney campaign with Sadie Sink

Brazilian flavor: Raquel Diniz was celebrating a next big step for her brand of femininity and romance during fashion from Milan Semaine, with a little help from friends including Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Coinciding with its spring 2023 presentation, it officially opened the door to its first 750-foot boutique squares on the central Via Santo Spirito replacing an old furrier unit Simonetta Ravizza.

"Milan is where it all started, in my living room, and over the past five seasons, it has been the home of my brand,” she said, embracing her clientele, already filling the space.

Developed by architectural firm Chahan, the space pays homage to Diniz's Brazilian roots with a stone floor with patterns reminiscent of sandy beaches in Ipanema.

A mixture of organic materials such as walnut wood used for displays, stone panels and the concrete-walled furniture contributed to the sophisticated decor, against which her cheerful fall concoctions were on full display.

"I wanted the store to have a kind of Brazilian imprint, but also a touch of Made in Italy,” the designer said. "One of the reasons I came here is that I wanted to be part of the culture of this country," she said.

Diniz, who is married to fashion investor and Formula 1 mogul Lawrence Stroll, is came to Milan to study at Istituto Marangoni, before working for public relations specialist Noona Smith-Petersen.

She thinks Milan was the natural first retail stop for the brand, but she's already considering to settle in Brazil, potentially in Bahia where she often vacations and owns a house.
