Abe foresees a political tsunami in Rivers

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) gubernatorial candidate in Rivers State, Senator Magnus Abe, has said the 2023 general election will be a political tsunami in the state as it will smash all known limitations and barriers.

Abe said in Port Harcourt yesterday that the days of elections being won and lost by political parties were over, pointing out that many events in the country have taught people hard lessons.

His words: "Nigerians used to vote on the basis of political party; people voted for anyone from their party. But things have changed. The 2023 elections will be a turning point in the political history of this country. In Rivers, the election will be a political tsunami as it will shatter all known boundaries and barriers.

“Our votes, our support in 2023 will consecrate justice and progress on this earth. Everyone who wakes up in the morning is looking for progress. Progress is not when the state is rich; c is when you make money for yourself.”

Earlier, Chikwem Orlu, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) House of Assembly candidate in Obio/Akpor Constituency 2, assured party members and Abe of the people's commitment to vote massively in the general elections of 2023.

He said: "The people you see here today are many supporters of the SMA project. My case tonight is very simple; it's just to tell you that these people have unanimously agreed that 'no vote will go to any party other than the SDP on whose platform you will be Governor of Rivers in 2023.

"Once again, we want to reassure you that the people of Obio/Akpor and the entire Obio/Akpor 2 constituency that I will represent will vote overwhelmingly for you on election day."
