Abuja-Kaduna train: Buhari meets the remaining 23 freed passengers

President Muhammadu Buhari met on Thursday with the 23 passengers freed from the Abuja-Kaduna train attack.

The President made an impromptu visit to the Nigerian Defense Academy (NDA) Hospital to see the victims of the train attack after commissioning NDA Regular Course 69 cadets, at Afaka, Kaduna State.

Before boarding NAF 001 to return to Abuja from Kaduna International Airport, Buhari also thanked the Nigerian military for their courageous services in securing the safe release of hostages from Boko terrorists Haram.

Members of the Chief of the Defense Staff Action Committee, led by the Major General. Usman Abdulkadir (Rtd), who facilitated the release of the train victims, was present at the hospital.

Recall that the 23 other victims of the Abuja-Kaduna train were released on Wednesday by their captors.

Usman Yusuf, secretary of the Chief of Defense Staff Action Committee, which announced the release in a statement Wednesday, said the hostages were released around 4 p.m.

The victims were abducted by Boko Haram terrorists during an attack on a moving passenger train in Kaduna on March 28, 2022.
