ADC mocks LP over social media structure, calls for rejection of APC and PDP

Claims intact Third Force status

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has taken the Labor Party (LP) to the cleaners for its demands for visibility at polling stations.

The party also called on Nigerians to reject both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for their failure to put the country on the path to development and nationhood, urging the electorate to end their woes by rejecting both parties in the 2023 elections.

The National Coordinator, Electoral Matters and Liaison Officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of the ADC, Chief Anayo Arinze, who made the remarks, further instructed President Muhammadu Buhari to ponder the best way to end the ongoing kidnappings and murders across the country.

Arinze, who gave the clarification at a party stakeholders retreat, held in Awka, Anambra State, yesterday, on the way forward for the ADC and its candidates in the elections of 2023, rejected insinuations that LP has replaced the ADC as the "Third Force Movement" in the political system, capable of upsetting the tight grip of the APC and PDP on power.

Arinze instructed political observers to look around the state to see if they could identify LP offices across the country, particularly in Anambra, directing LP leadership and presidential candidate Peter Obi, to focus more on deepening the party's presence in the unit elections.

According to him, this has become necessary to enable the LP to get few votes in the 2023 general election instead of being cheated by social media influencers, pointing out that the INEC has no units online voting to vote.

Underlining that Obi's popularity was primarily on social media, the former ADC national publicity secretary urged Obi to work on creating structures for LP and identifying politicians who can deliver him if he hopes to progress in the next poll.

Arinze said, "I don't think the LP would make any progress in the elections. They don't have any structure at all levels, including in Anambra, where their presidential candidate is from. They don't don't have offices where they hold meetings except social media platforms so how do you expect them to have votes during the election?"

The former publisher-turned-politician said it would be a miracle for LP, which has no grassroots structure, to win the elections, especially in Anambra.
