Adeleke's allegation against Oyetola regarding vehicles is false - APC

The Osun State branch of the All Progressives Congress has called false the allegation that former governor Adegboyega Oyetola and others former government officials took away vehicles worth N2.9 billion.

The party also described the perpetrators of the allegations as "comedians, only looking for ways to lessen the effect of their embarrassing outings in court election petition from Osun.”

In a statement by the party's media director, Mr. Kola Olabisi, the party said that all panels set up by the government already have their reports even before they were inaugurated.

The statement reads in part: "Take a look at the attached video, you will observe that the vehicles they advertised they are looking for are already used by the current Deputy Governor. Yet they claimed to have done their due diligence.

"Should we keep believing characters like this? How did they arrive at the cost? Are they using current market value or how? < /p>

"Speaking of this particular panel, have they completed their session?" When was their report submitted? We asked these questions because just two days ago the governor reportedly said that one of the former political candidates who wanted his November salary should return the vehicle to him.

"Or is that also part of the panel's recommendations?" For the sake of clarity, the former governor and his deputy, by law and convention, are entitled to certain privileges and these are well documented. Apart from the vehicles that their offices allow them to take home, they have never taken any other objects.

"As for Commissioners and other appointees who are also entitled, the Governor has officially approved their official used vehicles as gifts for their meritorious services to the state since they are not entitled to pension or gratuity.

"It's also important to point out that this gesture is not limited to political appointments alone, as in the past career officers had also been allowed leaving home with their used vehicles as a gift upon retirement for meritorious service to the state."

He said the fact could be verified because administrations prior to Oyetola practiced it, adding that Osun's PDP-led government had to get serious and stop acting. like actors.
