Aminu Mohammed: Ban Aisha Buhari, she's eating Nigeria's money – Adeyanju to the international community

The Convener of Concerned Nigerians, Deji Adeyanju, has accused President Muhammadu Buhari's wife, Aisha, of eating fat on Nigeria's money.

To this end, Adeyanju urged the international community to ban the First Lady of Nigeria, Aisha Buhari, from speaking on human rights broadcasts.

Adeyanju was reacting to the illegal torture of a student by security agencies at the request of Ms Buhari.

Recently, the media was inundated with the arrest, detention and “supervised” torture by Ms. Buhari of a student of Federal Dutse University, Aminu Adamu Muhammed, on November 8, 2022, following to a scathing Twitter comment he made about the president's wife.

Muhammed had tweeted in Hausa saying "Su mama anchi kudin talkawa ankoshi", which means "Mom ate the money of the poor and is now satisfied", followed by an attached photo of the First Lady.

As a result, the student was hand-picked by security agencies and allegedly taken to Aso Rock only to be treated in a degrading and inhumane manner through torture.

Reacting, Adeyanju condemned the illegal arrest and torture of the student by security agencies at the request of Ms Buhari.

He described the conduct as degrading and unconstitutional.

A statement from Adeyanju reads in part: “Aisha Buhari is feeding on our money. The estimated annual food and travel budget for Aso Rock from 2016 to date is: 2016 - N3.27 billion; 2017 - N3.11 billion; 2018 - N3.81 billion; 2019 - 3.39 Billion Naira 2020 - 7.46 Billion Naira 2021 - 6.07 Billion Naira 2022 - 6.77 Billion Naira From these huge amounts budgeted, one can only safely assume that Mohammed's assertion is the absolute truth, as the First Lady fed on taxpayers' money used to offset Aso Rock's budget expenses.

“Thus, the conduct of the First Lady and the detailed security agencies is devoid of good judgment, oppressive and unconstitutional. First of all, the fact that such an arrest and torture of the student was instigated through the First Lady is humiliating to the President's office and does not present the whole country in a good light to the world, in terms of respecting fundamental citizens freedoms protected by the Constitution of the country. Around the world, it is recognized that torture is a matter of serious concern that threatens the life and dignity of human persons.

“Accordingly, the international community is called upon to ban Ms. Aisha Buhari from attending or speaking at human rights events in condemnation of the conduct of the First Lady. In this regard, all security officials involved in this despicable act should also face the full wrath of the law."
