Amstel adds Copa America sponsorship until 2026 to its Conmebol list

January 12 - Dutch beer brand Amstel has extended its partnership with Conmebol, sponsoring the Copa America until 2026 and adding the women's version of the competition.

The Heineken-owned brand will associate its name with the region's premier club competition for both men and women in the new 2023-2026 cycle. They first became Copa Libertadores sponsors in 2017 and Amstel said the new deal includes "unique stadium visibility and exclusive experiences, broadcast sponsorship, branded content and ticket giveaways". .

Jules Macken, Global Marketing Director of Amstel, said: "Football is for everyone, whether you are a player or a fan, whatever your age or gender. Amstel is a brand that celebrates inclusion and hospitality in everything we do and we are delighted to extend this principle of support and inclusion in our football partnerships.

"The extension of our sponsorship until 2026 and the important inclusion of Conmebol Libertadores Femenina is another step for us in championing equality in sport. We look forward to continuing to strengthen our relationship with the Conmebol and to work together to create even more diversity in the sport that South America loves."

Terms of the new agreement have not been released.

Conmebol President Alejandro Domínguez said: "For Conmebol, football is always football, whether men or women play it. We are firmly committed to moving towards greater fairness in the South American football, supporting women's tournaments, ranking their competitions and forming alliances with like-minded companies.

"This is the case of Amstel, a renowned company with global reach, with whom we are happy to extend our agreement."

With the start of a new round, Conmebol earlier this week increased the prize money in its club competitions, adding $300 million to the pot.
