Anti-party activities: Osun PDP read the riot act to the members

The Osun State branch of the Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday warned party members against further anti-party activities, saying harsh penalties await anyone caught in the act.

The party's acting chairman, Dr Adekunle Akindele, made this known when he received some local government party leaders from Ayedaade in Osogbo over the weekend.

He maintained that the PDP is committed to enforcing discipline within its ranks although he commends the Babayemi district for doing the necessary in rooting out the expelled politician.

Dr Adekunle pointed out that the expulsion of Prince Dotun Babayemi and the ensuing defeat in the Supreme Court are lessons for other anti-party activists that severe punishment awaits them unless they back down before it's too late.

“The statewide celebration of the Supreme Court judgment is a huge congratulations to the governor-elect.

Dr. Akindele called on party leaders and members to prepare for a government party and expressed Governor-elect Senator Ademola Adeleke's gratitude to the brave people of Osun State for their support overwhelming and best wishes.

“Today, the approval rating of our governor-elect in Osun State is over 70%. Ditto for the PDP. We will not take this strong public support for granted. Our government will keep its election promises and we will take Osun to a greater height,” the party stressed.
