APC Reps candidate demands urgent signing of NYSC trust fund bill

The All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate for the House of Representatives in the Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency of Benue State, Philip Agbese, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to enact the NYSC Trust Fund as a farewell gift to the youth bustle in the country.

Chief Philip Agebese said so during an interactive session with journalists after a visit to the presidential villa in Abuja as part of his consultations and preparations for the upcoming elections.

He said, "The long-awaited signing of the NYSC trust fund bill, considered by stakeholders to be the nation's unemployment masterstroke, is ahead of our gracious President. We are confident that Mr. President will sign the bill given the many benefits it would bring to the country.”

"The NYSC Trust Fund is the result of strenuous efforts to address youth unemployment in the country. All of this has been articulated by various stakeholders across the country as part of our drive to address youth unemployment. We must understand that the NYSC Trust Fund, once enacted, will remain one of the notable legacies of the Muhammadu Buhari administration.”

Agnese further added that the Muhammadu Buhari administration has devoted considerable attention to youth development in the country over the years.
