Apple has revealed the winners of the 2022 App Store Awards, and Respawn's Apex Legends Mobile has won iPhone Game of the Year.

The awards highlight 16 apps and games that inspired users to engage more deeply with the world, expand their imaginations, and stay connected with friends and loved ones, Apple said. Apple judged the games and awards based on technological innovation, user experience, and design.

This year's winners represent a diverse community of developers, from solo developers to large enterprises around the world, whose apps and games have been selected by the Apple App Store's global editorial team for deliver exceptional experiences and have a profound cultural impact.

"This year's App Store Award winners have reimagined our experiences with apps that offer fresh, thoughtful, and authentic insights," Apple CEO Tim Cook said in a statement. "From self-taught solo creators to international teams spanning the globe, these entrepreneurs are making a meaningful impact and representing how apps and games influence our communities and our lives."

Apex Legends Mobile won Best iPhone Game for bringing the fast-hit Battle Royale game to the iPhone. Moncage, the best game for iPad, forces users to see things from different angles to solve puzzles, and the immersive card game Inscryption (best game for Mac) engages players with experimental storytelling.

El Hijo, a tale of the Wild West, is a cleverly designed stealth game for Apple TV. Apple Arcade's unique life simulation, Wylde Flowers, invites players into its charming world of various magical characters and spells, and League of Legends Esports Manager lets players manage the world's most influential esports leagues. /p>

As for non-gaming apps, Apple said the social app BeReal gives users authentic insight into the lives of family and friends, and the Gentler Streak fitness tracker helps users balance fitness and rest to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
