Dalton Gomez has stayed out of the spotlight since his split from Ariana Grande, but now he's starting to appear in public...and the dude looks blue.

The famous real estate agent - who is now single after splitting from his pop star ex-wife and is almost certainly on the verge of a divorce - was spotted at a Barney's Beanery in WeHo on Friday night... where we were told he was hanging out. with a group of people... pool shooting.

However, based on this photo -- obtained by TMZ -- you can tell he wasn't having the best time...which is confirmed by eyewitness accounts. Our sources tell us that Dalton looked incredibly sad the whole time he was there... he was mostly alone and kept quiet.

Most importantly, Dalton had a ringless finger where he once proudly sported a wedding ring — confirming that he and Ariana are dunzo…something TMZ first reported in July.

We haven't seen DG in a while -- before the news even broke, he and Ari had broken up... it's safe to say the guy is pretty private. Now he is surfacing for the first time – and if a picture is worth a thousand words… there are sure to be many ways to describe his behavior here.
