AWF: July Guest Writer Session Features Ejiro Otive, Echelo Okwori

The revival of the Abuja Writers Forum Guest Writers Session is gaining momentum with the July edition featuring Ejiro Otive-Igbuzor and Echela Okwori on the 29th at 4:00 p.m. and will include live music, among other side attractions.

In the romance genre, Ejiro Otive-Igbuzor has recently published two novels - TROPHY HUSBAND and TRAVAILS OF OMOTEJEMO. Both novels share a foundation of how African history, culture and values ​​shape the lives of the main characters at home and abroad.

Ejiro holds a PhD in microbiology, specializing in TB/HIV co-infection and tuberculosis bacteriology. She describes her passion for creative writing as follows: “I have always had a passion for storytelling, and my training in gender equality and social inclusion is usually complemented with practical life stories and studies. of cases to anchor the theoretical perspectives in our reality. I've recently started paying attention to the novelist in me, and I see people liking my stories. Honestly, all the checks in any currency I've received for my hard work so far can't pay for the joy I feel when I sit down to write my novels. It is obviously a vocation. I've found my "ikigai" and I'm here to stay."

Echela Okwori from Otukpa in Benue State is the creator of the IDAAGO STORY series which has told hundreds of stories on Raypower FM Abuja and Joy FM Otukpo. He will be featured as a Storyteller in the Storytelling segment, a new feature of the Guest Writer Session.

In addition to the readings, there will be live music by David Adzer and a raffle for the books. The Guest Writers Session runs from 4-7pm, is open to the public and is held at the International Institute of Journalism, behind Shashilga Court, Gwarinpa Expressway, Jahi, Abuja.
