Prime Video will premiere its multimillion-dollar Lord of the Rings series later this year, and we finally get our first look at the long-awaited show. The streamer released a teaser clip for “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” on February 13 during the Super Bowl. "Before the king, before fellowship, before the ring, a new legend begins this fall," reads the one-minute trailer. On July 22, a brand new trailer was unveiled during San Diego Comic-Con, which appears to give fans their first look at Balrog, the infamous villain from Tolkien's J.R.R. Novels.

The upcoming series is set during the Second Age - when the rings of power came into being - and is set "thousands of years before the events of 'The Hobbit' and 'The Lord of the Rings' by J.R.R. Tolkien", per Prime Video Synopsis. The new show will transport viewers to an era where old and familiar faces will confront the dreaded resurgence of evil in Middle-earth.

"The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" marks the return of original Lord of the Rings trilogy characters Galadriel (played by Morfydd Clark) and Elrond (played by "Game of Thrones" alum Robert Aramayo ). Other cast members include Ema Horvath, Tyroe Muhafidin, Sophia Nomvete, Megan Richards, Dylan Smith, Charlie Vickers, Daniel Weyman and many more. The fantasy series will debut on September 2. Watch the trailers for 'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power' from Prime Video.
