Bangladesh v Ireland: Hosts claim T20 series success with comfortable 77-point victory

A delayed start due to rain reduced the game to 17 overs par team, but the hosts still put up a formidable 202-3 tally.

Litton Das scored the most with 83 balls from 41, with Rony Talukdar hitting 44.

Ireland struggled in his answer, with Curtis Campher making 50 and Shakib Al Hasan finishing with numbers 5- 20.

Captain at home Shakib also contributed an unbeaten 38 in an innings that saw Ben White take the wickets of prolific flyhalf Das and Talukdar, who set up a dynamic partnership of 124.

However, Bangladesh's run rate of nearly 12 runs per over proved too difficult for Ireland to match and, after Paul Stirling went for a "duck" on the opening ball, wickets fell at regular intervals.

Shakib took the wickets of Lorcan Tucker, Mark Adair, Gareth Delany, George Dockrell and Harry Tector to annihilate Ireland's top and middle order hitters, with only Campher putting up stubborn resistance with his half century on 30 balls.

Tector hit three sixes on his 22, while Graham Hume was undefeated on 20.

Taskin Ahmed skillfully backed Shakib up taking 3-27.
