Bauchi: Gov Bala signs autonomy bill, NBA reacts

The Bauchi branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has commended the state Governor, Bala Mohammed, for signing into law the Home Rule Bill as passed by the Nigerian Legislative Assembly. the state.

According to him, "We further commend the executive, legislative and judicial branches of government as well as other stakeholders, including the bar, for seizing the opportunity to ensure that this great and unique piece is now firmly on the ground, setting the stage for the much-needed financial independence of the judicial arm of government.”

The NBA has also taken the opportunity to call on judges at all levels, other staff and all justice sector stakeholders to view this development as a call for superior service, altruism and devotion to duty.

He observed that society will now be more interested in monitoring the performance of our judicial actors, particularly from the point of view of the type of judgments they make as a mirror of their integrity, their fear of God and the promotion of the law.< /p>

It is therefore emphasized that while financial independence and satisfaction are essential to a smooth, efficient and fair distribution system, integrity, good reputation and the pleasure of Almighty God are far more important considerations. important and which must be situated in all our actions, decisions and general commitments.
