FEELING BOOKISH: A good slice of the Parisian social scene deposited in the 7L bookstore on rue de Lille on Tuesday evening, as journalist and author William Middleton signed copies of his new biography of Karl Lagerfeld, titled "Paradise Now".

Olivier Picasso, Pierre Passebon, Haider Ackermann and Lars Nilsson rubbed shoulders with Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld executives home before retiring to the famed Lagerfeld photo studio tucked away in the back for a chat between the author and Elizabeth Von Guttman, co-founder of System magazine.

Actress Rebecca Hall, wearing a Batsheva dress with a pointed collar, said that she's "editing a movie that I'm going to direct. "He couldn't play any longer because the whole cast was English", a-t he said, lamenting that since Brexit, actors can only stay in France for a short time.

Now out of Harpers, Middleton's 480-page tome delves into Lagerfeld's key relationships, to both personal and professional, and retraces her extraordinary career in fashion.
