The future of crypto remains very bright. That's according to Ledger CEO Pascal Gauthier, who sat down for a one-on-one with Cointelegraph in his home country of France. Gauthier, who is entering his eighth year working at Ledger, explained that the recent drop in Bitcoin prices hasn't stopped interest in crypto:

"Bitcoin may be down, but people are buying NFTs and you know, they're participating in communities."

Gauthier voiced his opinion as he sat outside the gates of the Grand Casino in Biarritz, which hosts France's largest Bitcoin conference, Surfin Bitcoin. The conference was a Bitcoin maxi-style affair where royalty and Bitcoin enthusiasts rubbed shoulders to drive Bitcoin adoption in France.

Commenting on the "religious war of Bitcoin maxis against the rest of the world", Gauthier explained that it is a question of the suitability of the product. If the competition is good because it stimulates innovation, it is also a question of the use case: “It's also interesting to see that people are simply using the product. And when they use the product, they use bitcoin and sometimes they use other things."
