The Brixton O2 Academy in London will remain closed for at least three months, Lambeth Council ruled.

This comes after two people died and several were injured in a crowd in the lobby of the hall during an Afro-pop Asake concert on December 15.

Rebecca Ikumelo and Gaby Hutchinson were fatally injured in the crash.

The Lambeth Licensing Sub-Committee suspended the venue's license at an earlier meeting.

Nigerian artist Asake's third sold-out concert in a week had to be cut short when large numbers of people tried to enter the South London venue.
