Burna Boy, Wizkid and Davido win AFRIMA awards

Nigerian superstars Burna Boy, Wizkid and Davido picked up awards on Sunday night at the prestigious All Africa Music Awards held in Dakar, Senegal.

Grammy Award-winning Burna Boy won Best Act in Africa at the eighth annual event.

It also snagged the award for best album of the year, beating artists like Kabza De Small from South Africa, Didi B from Ivory Coast, among others.

However, the Ivorian singer, Didi B, won the song of the year award.

While Wizkid won Best Act in West Africa, Davido snagged Best Male Act in African Inspirational Music.

For his song "High" with Davido, Adekunle Gold won two awards: Best African Contemporary Music Act Group and Best African Pop Act, Duo or Group.

Guinean singer, Manamba Kanye, won the award for best female actor in West Africa.

The awards night, held at the 15,000 capacity Dakar Arena in Diamniadio, Senegal, finalized the four-day event to celebrate African music superstars.

Black Sheriff from Ghana and PSquare from Nigeria were among the performers who wowed the crowd at the event.
