Chelsea and Man Utd, two of the six Premier League teams, are eyeing a future 'world class' free agent

According to TEAMtalk

The defender in question is Inter Milan and Slovak centre-half Milan Skriniar, who is also attracting interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

Inter paid 34 million euros to sign Skriniar from Sampdoria in 2017 and he became one of the best defenders in world football.

He is out of contract at the end of the season and it's no surprise to see so many elite clubs monitoring his situation.

Inter CEO Beppe Marotta recently said he hoped the 'first-class' player would extend his stay with the Serie A side.

"As for Skriniar, who is absolutely top class on and off the pitch, I hope we can agree on a new deal," he said.

A recent report indicated that there is a lot of interest in the 'world-class' defender.

And now TEAMtalk say that Inter's attempts to extend their deal have proven unsuccessful and there are an incredible number of clubs interested.

Reporter Graeme Bailey says Man City - who don't need a new centre-back - are in the running because of the great opportunity to sign a player of Skriniar's caliber.

Bailey told TEAMtalk: "Milan Skriniar is truly one of the best free agents that could ever become available, he would be right there with someone like Antonio Rudiger.

"Most of the clubs now showing an interest did not believe he would leave Inter, but their attempts to tie him down to a new contract have so far been unsuccessful.

"Inter still believe they will convince him to stay, but he will be able to present these pre-contract offers very soon.

"Paris Saint-Germain always have been and still are, but now all the top Premier League clubs are interested - the chance to land one of the best defenders in the world at 27 is just around the corner. not too often.

So even someone like Manchester City, who don't have a new centre-half high on their wanted list, are willing to make him an offer. But the same goes for Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham and Newcastle.

"The battle for Skriniar will be fascinating if he decides to leave."

Chelsea have been linked with Skriniar for some time now and are also keen on club mate Nicolo Barella.

Barella would cost around €60m, which could be a bargain considering Chelsea could lose N'Golo Kante and Jorginho at the end of the season.

Both players are out of contract next summer and don't seem very close to a new deal.
