During Chinet 2021, Ogun State Finance Commissioner Mr. Dapo Okubadejo promoted the airport as a great option for investors.

He promised that the airport would be built before the end of 2022. The promise has been kept and the state is returning to hire aviation professionals to exploit the opportunities inherent in the industry.

Cargo is the fastest growing sector of the aviation industry and the airport promises to tap into this huge market.

Additional state cargo airports are expected to join the Day 2 discussion at the 2022 edition of the event.

The future of cargo airports and their viability will be the focus of the second day of the Chinat 2022 event.

The event to be held on 7-8 September 2022 at the Lagos Marriott Hotel, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos is expected to bring together captains of industries from aviation, logistics, exports, transportation and government agencies in the field related to export.

Chinet 22 will also discuss the role of cargo airports, insurance and finance in developing a national Aviacargo export master plan for Nigeria.

Captain John Okakpu, an export guru and the pilot of many Agroexport projects in Nigeria, will lead discussions on the viability of these airports and their use for Agroexports. Thirteen federal airports have been designated as cargo airports and five have recently been listed for concession.

About 10 state-owned cargo airports are also in operation.

How does Nigeria harmonize and use these strengths to develop agro-exports? will be discussed by a high quality panel assembled by the organizers.

However, Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) Commissioner Akin Olateru will present an article on the impact of accident investigation on the country's insurance profile, while the Director General from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Captain Rabiu Yadudu will present the profile of Aviacargo Business in Nigeria and an initiative on an Aviacargo National Master Plan for Nigeria.

Regulators and operators of the aviacargo ecosystem in Nigeria confirm their participation in the event. These include the National Food and Drug Control Agency, NAFDAC, headed by the DG, Professor Mojisola Adeyeye. NAFDAC regulates products and gives approval for the export of these products.

The Nigerian Export Processing Zone Authority, NEPZA, Managing Director, Adesoji Adesugba, will present the role that NEPZA has played in the development of export zones in Nigeria.

The first day of the event will focus on aviation and cargo financing in Nigeria, with insurance being a key topic of discussion.

The financing session involving airlines and banks will be moderated by Dr. Alex Nwuba, pilot, airline operator and financial adviser.

Major insurance heavyweights were also lined up to discuss the role of insurance in the growth of aviation and cargo in Nigeria.

Leading the pack in the insurance industry is the newly elected President of the African Association of Insurance Brokers (AIBA) and Chairman of Boff & Co. Insurance Brokers Ltd, Chief Babajide Olatunde- Agbeja, a seasoned industry expert.

Chef Olatunde-Agbeja is a long-time insurance guru and experienced aviation insurance expert.
