Court returns businessman accused of sodomizing minor in Kaduna

A magistrate's court in Kafanchan, Kaduna State, on Tuesday ordered a 24-year-old businessman, Dazuli Abubakar, to be remanded to a correctional facility for allegedly sodomizing a minor .

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) charged Abubakar with an unnatural offense contrary to the provisions of Section 259 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Act.

Magistrate Michael Bawa adjourned the case until November 1 after refusing to accept Abubakar's plea of ​​lack of jurisdiction to hear the case.

Bawa ordered the prosecutor to forward the case to the State Director of Public Prosecutions for legal advice.

Earlier, NSCDC lawyer Mr Marcus Audu told the court that the boy's mother reported the matter to the corps office in Kafanchan on September 29.

Audu testified that Abubakar lured the Complainant's seven-year-old son with N200 and sodomized him.

Abubakar reportedly threatened to kill the boy if he revealed what had happened to anyone.

He said the victim was taken to Salama Sexual Assault Referral Center in Kafanchan and referred to the NSCDC for investigation.
