Dangote becomes ECOWAS Manufacturer of the Year

Dangote Industries Limited, Africa's largest business conglomerate, has been named Outstanding Indigenous Conglomerate of the Decade, winning eight different Economic Community of West African States Manufacturing Excellence Awards (EMEA).

Similarly, two subsidiaries of the Conglomerate, Dangote Cement Plc and Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc also received Brands of the Decade awards from renowned Marketing Edge magazine.

While the EMEA awards were handed out by the Nigerian newspaper Daily Independent and its counterpart BusinessDay Ghana, the Brand of the Decade for Dangote Group Subsidiaries was received at the 10th edition of leading brand magazine, Marketing Edge's 2022 Summit and Award Night "Technology Explosion in the Digital Age - Imperatives for the Marketing Communications Industry", held in Lagos.

It was a shower of awards as the Dangote brand was named the number one brand by all standards with its brands of sugar and cement as the two brands, company which has contributed immensely to the development of infrastructure not only in Nigeria but also in Africa over the past 10 years.

Speaking at the event, John Ajayi, Publisher/CEO of Marketing Edge Publications, described this year's awards as a unique and one-of-a-kind award, designed to reboot, relaunch and reinvigorate the social, intellectual and entrepreneur from Nigeria. Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC).

While praising the management of Dangote Group for the business strategy which helped to position the brand far ahead of others in the industry, he explained that the awards event was held for “ celebrating the best and brightest brands".

According to him, the award given to Dangote brands is recognition of its leadership and dominance in the various market segments and categories, adding that recognized brands are brands that “continue to make Nigerian consumers happy and satisfied ".
