Transfer: Super Eagles goalkeeper Okoye set to leave Watford on loan

Nigeria goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye has admitted he is ready to leave Sky Bet Championship club, Watford on loan in January.

Okoye joined the Hornets from Eredivisie side Sparta Rotterdam this summer.

The 23-year-old is yet to make a single appearance for the London side in the Championship.

The stopper only played once for Watford in the Carabao Cup loss to MK Dons.

According to reports, Okoye could be loaned out for a return to the Eredivisie when the transfer window reopens next month.

The former Fortuna Dusseldorf keeper has a good reputation in the Netherlands after his impressive two-year stint with Sparta Rotterdam.

"We'll see what happens. My contract runs until 2027, so anything is possible. Maybe I'll be hired, or not, I don't know yet," Okoye told Voetbal Primeur.< /p>

"The Eredivisie? Yes, that sounds like something to me. Clubs in the Netherlands know me well from Sparta and know what they can do with me. We'll see.

"For now, my focus is only on Watford and the matches we are going to play."
