Dare to dazzle with blue eyes and red lips | Funmi Fetto

Of course, a shock of blue mascara paired with a punchy red lip isn't the easiest look to wear. But listen to me. The no-makeup look has its space, but experimenting with color will keep you from getting into a rut. Blue – from pastels to indigos – was ubiquitous on the AW runways. They all happen to look great with a red or pink lip. Don't want blue mascara? A liner offers less commitment. And if red lips feel too much, pink or coral will do. Yes, it may take you out of your comfort zone, but it will keep your makeup bag on its toes.

I can't live without it… Simple skincare that's not just for members

Soho House is known for being, arguably, the most successful members club in the world. Their clubs – many of which have restaurants but also rooms, cinemas and workspaces – are everywhere from Mykonos to Mumbai. Although they also have spas with Cowshed's excellent bath and body products, they were never seen as a beauty brand on their own. So when I learned that they were launching Soho Skin, I admit I was a bit skeptical. I shouldn't have been. It's good. Very well actually. The whole premise of the line is based on effectiveness and efficiency. Which means the products - all with scientifically proven formulations created with the help of one of the industry's most revered cosmetic scientists - are made to work hard and deliver on their promise. The range, which includes the usual suspects – a gentle cream to a foaming cleanser, serum, exfoliator – is consciously relatively small in order to streamline routines. My favorite is the 24/7 treatment. Created to combat the effects of an over-the-top lifestyle, it's an exfoliating hybrid (the lactic acid here will slough off dead skin cells and brighten) and hydrating (the hyaluronic acid will hydrate and plump the skin). The message is, why use two products when you could use one really great product? And you don't need to be a member to buy it. Excellent in every way. Soho Skin 24/7 Treatment, £72, sohoskin.com

On my radar… A scented candle, luscious lashes and a dreamy cleanser

Rosy Looking for a good everyday black mascara that gives you amazing volume and curl and lasts 24 hours? Well, there it is. It's one of the best I've used in years. Guerlain Noir G Mascara, £31, johnlewis.com

Blemish Banishing A cleanser that targets blemish-prone skin, whether teenage or in perimenopause, and exfoliates, soothes the skin and cleanses without disrupting your skin barrier. The dream. Wild Science Lab Happy Days Cleanser, £20, wildsciencelab.com

Amazing Grace Grace Jones has created a black peppercorn, Turkish rose, cedarwood and Jamaican flora candle with Boy Smells, blurring the lines of gender. A celebrity collaboration that makes sense. Boy Smells Grace candle, £54, brownsfashion.com
