Del Core RTW Spring 2023
Daniel Del Core is a Helmut Newton fan, which isn't that hard to figure out judging by the long, clean lines and dramatic flourishes of his latest collection.
These are garments that can be spotted from afar, an exaggerated flared bottom over otherwise skinny pants; a stiff, sculptural peplum over a luminous jacket; long sparkling dresses that seemed to come out of the depths of the sea.
Drama and helping clients stand out on stage or on the red carpet is Del's specialty Core. At Gucci, he worked with Alessandro Michele on creating dramatic and complex looks for celebrities such as Lana Del Ray and Björk, and in recent seasons he has channeled this aesthetic into his eponymous line.
While he may have set out to lighten things up this season, with more fabrics light, flowier, easier, it was always quite glamorous, from the white tulle dress with a biscuit-coloured bodice to the suits with flared trousers, statement peplums and a stained pink flower print and the fine ribbed knits paired with long satin skirts.
