Edo government to develop tourism master plan and revitalize Ojirami Dam

The Edo state government said it has reached an agreement to revitalize the Ojirami Dam in the Akoko Edo local government area of ​​the state to supply and supply drinking water to residents.

State Governor Godwin Obaseki made the revelation during the 25th anniversary of the coronation and birthday celebration of the Otaru of Igarra, Oba Emmanuel Adeche Saiki II, held Saturday in Igarra-Akoko-Edo Local Government Area.< /p>

Obaseki, who was represented by the Commissioner for Culture, Tourism and Diaspora Affairs, Mr. Bamidele Obaitan, said the government was developing a tourism master plan aimed at creating opportunities of employment for the population of the State.

He said Akoko-Edo Local Government Area is part of the Tourism Master Plan because of the huge tourist spots located in the council and North Edo in general.

"We are working on a tourism master plan to develop Edo's tourism potential.

“Akoko-Edo has huge tourism potential and the local government is part of our tourism master plan due to various tourist spots in the area.

"With the development of the local government's tourism potential, the region will bring more businesses and money to the people and the state in general," Obaseki said.

The governor has promised local government residents more health centers and more roads to boost the economic productivity of the council as part of his mega project.

Obaseki congratulated the Otaru of Igarra on his 25 years on the throne, adding that those years had been marked by a peaceful reign in Igarraland.

"I must congratulate you on your 25 years as Otaru of Igarra and your reign has rendered valuable service to the people of Igarra.

"As you mark your 25th coronation, may God grant you many more years on the throne," Obaseki said.

In his welcome speech, the Chairman of the Igarra Community, Mr. Tajudeen Alade said that Igarra was celebrating more than two decades of peaceful and successful reign on the Royal Throne of Otaru of Igarra.< /p>
