Elections: LP alleges opposition party plans to tamper with FCT results

The Federal Capital Territory Labor Party has accused opposition parties in the nation's capital of wanting to tamper with the election results for the elected LP senator and elected member of the House of Representatives.

The Independent National Electoral Commission had declared LP senatorial candidate Ireti Kingibe as the elected senator for the FCT and Obika Chinedu as the elected member of the House of Representatives for AMAC/Bwari.

Addressing a press conference at the FCT, LP Chairman Peter Chukwuemeka said on Tuesday that the party suspected that the two main parties were planning to overturn the results of the National Assembly election.< /p>

Chkwuemeka said: "The suspicion regarding the FCT results is that there is a very strong rumor that the People's Democratic Party and the Congress of All Progressives are going to the INEC in the FCT to tamper with our elections Senate and House of Representatives, which will not be acceptable to the Labor Party, the results are there, it's open, it's documented, people voted for them and that's what we saw .

"The day our elected senator and elected member of the House of Representatives received their homecoming certificates, all the people of Abuja were there to celebrate, and it was very peaceful and remarkable."

During the presidential election, the chairman of the FCT LP claimed that the people did not celebrate the result of the exercise.

“However, as soon as the truth is confirmed, people will start celebrating by December. And that's why you haven't seen anyone celebrating,” he said.

The President maintained that the party was not surprised that its members won the elections because they had planned it, worked for it, and the people of Nigeria, especially the residents of the FCT, needed of a change and the change has come.

He appreciated the residents of the FCT for voting for the party's candidates, which gave them a landslide victory.
