England vs Senegal: Five things the Teranga Lions must do to beat the Three Lions

From the plains of Senegal's Teranga to the vanished ones that once roamed the countryside outside London, it's a battle of lions on Sunday at Doha's 60,000 capacity Al Bayt Stadium.< /p>

African champions Senegal take on the almost men of world football in England. The English are the clear favorites for Sunday's encounter, although Senegal have a good chance of winning if they can play to their strengths and try to neutralize the Three Lions' strongest assets.

These are five things the Senegalese must do and get a famous victory.

Sabaly can't commit too much to attack

Marcus Rashford, England's most effective striker at the moment, will start on the England left side. This will put him in direct opposition to Youssouf Sabaly, who has been reliable throughout the tournament.

Gareth Southgate will want to take any opportunity to capitalize on the Senegalese defender's attacking foray through Luke Shaw and the quick Rashford. Although the Real Betis full-back is also a powerful attacking outlet for Senegal, coach Cissé should advise defensive concentration rather than attacking inroads.

Push Loum down the field to disrupt Henderson

Declan Rice and Jordan Henderson are likely to start at the base of the England midfield. The Liverpool captain is likely to be the team's greatest passer and tempo controller, so it's imperative to disturb him.

In order to stop this flow, Aliou Cissé must have the courage to push a midfielder very high up the pitch. Idrissa Gueye, currently suspended, would have done a fantastic job in this situation, but Cheikhou Kouyate or Mamadou Loum can still fulfill this role.

Move Sarr to the right flank to face Shaw

It would be unwise for Cissé to use Ismaila Sarr's quickness and intelligence against the powerful and agile Walker now that he is back in full force. Sarr can, however, point out Luke Shaw's weaknesses on the right wing, namely a lack of concentration and a tendency to give up simple free kicks for lack of real rhythm.

In England's first three games, John Stones completed 278 of 290 passes, moving the ball farther than any other Three Lions and serving as a real focal point for their attacks. Boulaye Dia, who has a goal to his name in Qatar, can be used mainly as an instigator of the press to destabilize the English. He needs to keep a close eye on the Manchester City defender and take advantage of any chance to shut him down.

TEXEM Advert Teranga Lions Must Be Brave

The Teranga Lions were aggressive from the start against Ecuador, and even after being held up by Ecuador's equaliser, they quickly stepped up their attacking efforts. They must have observed in Qatar that super teams no longer exist in football. Cameroon beat Brazil, France lost to Tunisia, Germany lost to Japan and Argentina to Saudi Arabia. All these teams did was be brave and take their scoring chances.
