English National Opera: What's next after being ordered to leave London?

From the Houses of Parliament to daytime television, a debate raged over the future of one of England's leading opera houses after they saw their funding cut and told to leave London. Manchester has been suggested as the new home of English National Opera - but could it work? a preview of Christmas TV on ITV's This Morning.

But last week Holly Willoughby revealed to viewers that she was a "huge fan" of English National Opera (ENO), and said the company's current precarious position was "utterly heartbreaking".

The co-host Phillip Schofield also lent his support and even took aim at the 'half-screwed' of Arts Council England, whose latest government funding allocation has put a big question mark over ENO's future.

"When Holly and Phil start covering it, you know it's more than just opera," said ENO chief executive Stuart Murphy .
