EPL roundup: Arsenal maintain five-point gap with late win over Bournemouth

Arsenal's ambition for the Premier League title was given a boost on Saturday when the Gunners came within two goals to beat AFC Bournemouth 3-2 at the Emirates Stadium.

Bournemouth had lost all of their games to the Gunners in their last six visits to north London and many had rightly predicted another victory for the title-chasing Arsenal side.

However, the game did not go to plan when Arsenal conceded the second-fastest goal in Premier League history after Philips Billings scored nine seconds after kick-off.

As Mikel Arteta's men were expected to dust off the shaky start and enter the game, the first half ended 1-0 in favor of the visitors. Arsenal's poor first half was made worse when in the 57th minute Marco Senesi doubled Bournemouth's lead.

However, five minutes after conceding the second goal, Thomas Partey reduced the lead to 2-1.

In the 70th minute, Ben White was good for Arsenal with the equalizer as the momentum turned in favor of the Gunners.

Now faced with securing the crucial winning goal that would earn them the coveted three points, Arsenal huffed and puffed, but there seemed to be no way.

Just when many thought the spoils would be split, Ries Nelson emerged with the winning goal seven minutes into added time and Arsenal cut the tie 3-2.
