EPL: Suarez reveals what he said to Nunez after headbutting Andersen in Liverpool draw

Former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has revealed he advised Darwin Nunez to learn from his mistakes after the Uruguay international saw red for violent conduct in his second Premier League outing against Crystal Palace.

Nunez's brilliant start to life in England came crashing down last Monday night when he was sent off on his Anfield debut for headbutting Joachim Andersen in Liverpool's 1-1 draw in the Premier League with Palace.

Speaking to Telemundo, Suarez said he spoke with Nunez after the incident, "because he is just getting started and to make him aware that from now on opponents will be looking for him two or three times more often.< /p>

"Even more in England, he hears that from an idiot who makes mistakes and suffers for them, but falling and getting up made me stronger.

"Don't give them more chances, it will only get worse."

"Darwin is someone who listens a lot. He's very smart that way and I think he'll try to turn things around, that's okay, we've all made mistakes, we've all been expelled.

"The problem is that he just arrived there and in England, to put it lightly, they make a big deal out of it," added the former Barcelona star.

Suarez, now in his native Uruguay with Nacional, is of course no stranger to controversy.

As a Liverpool player, he received an eight-match ban after the FA found him guilty of racist abuse of Manchester United's Patrice Evra, while the end of his time with the Reds coincided with a four-month ban for biting Juventus legend Giorgio Chiellini at the FIFA World Cup.
