Everton 'bid hard' for £43m West Ham target Liverpool 'want to leave' Villarreal

Everton are 'bidding hard' to sign Arnaut Danjuma from Villarreal in January with the former Bournemouth star wanting an exit from the Spanish side.

Danjuma was in stunning form for Villarreal last season, scoring ten goals in 23 La Liga games and six in the Champions League before progressing to the semi-finals.

But Unai Emery's successor Quique Setien has limited Danjuma's playing time since joining the club in October and the 25-year-old now reportedly 'wants to leave'.

That's according to El Periódico Mediterráneo, who also claim Everton have shown 'the most interest' and are 'bidding hard' to land the striker, who is valued at £43m.

Frank Lampard's team are looking to loan out Danjuma with a non-binding option to buy and "this formula satisfies all parties involved".

Villarreal need to balance their books and would benefit from Danjuma's lower wage bill, while Everton and Danjuma would not be linked if the move didn't work out.

Lampard is under enormous pressure at Goodison Park, with the hierarchy apparently considering his future.

"I will never seek and seek reassurance," Lampard said. "It's part of my job to focus on the job at hand, day by day, game by game. I don't need reassurance. I come to work to try to improve a little bit every day. - myself, the team, the team and all.

"I'm not trying to reassure myself."

Lampard added that the club's position in the league was not his immediate concern, saying he was focused on a longer-term process.

"If we win the next league matches, we will probably be in the last three," he said. “It's part of the process. I am very aware of what I came to do in this work. I want to succeed in this club.

"Any challenges that come my way, I will take them on and really enjoy them.

"I love working for this club, it's a real honor for me. That's why I say 'I don't need reassurance'. I'm a great man working for a great club and I will continue to do so."
