F1 LIVE: Lewis Hamilton decision angers Wolff, Red Bull's 'big star' to replace Verstappen

Toto Wolff slammed Yuki Tsunoda's 'ugly' obstruction of Lewis Hamilton which could have cost him a place in Q2 of qualifying, after the AlphaTauri star was hit with a three-place penalty on the grid.

The stewards ruled that Tsunoda delayed Hamilton on the track and a visibly annoyed Wolff denounced the decision which cost Hamilton dearly as he started 13th.

"It's really ugly to watch," the visibly annoyed Austrian told reporters in the Zandvoort paddock, including Mirror Sport. "The answer is penalize, penalize, penalize. If you know you're not going to jail for cheating on your taxes, you're cheating on your taxes. I don't understand why these things aren't penalized.

"It was clearly awkward with some drivers in Q1 and Tsunoda, he's a nice guy, but he got in the way of Lewis on his fast lap and didn't move from the dry line. It didn't look like great -thing but going from a dry line to a wet line cost him.

"I think a tenth would have propelled it into Q3. We have to be tough on penalties and then people will look in their mirror."
