The two teams last met in the semi-finals of the 2018 edition, a penalty shoot-out separating them before Nigeria won the tournament after another triumph from the penalty spot in the final against South Africa in Ghana.< /p>

The Falcons, nine-time champions, started this year's competition on a losing note, following a 2-1 loss to South Africa in their Group C opener.

One of the undefeated teams so far in the tournament, Cameroon also finished second in their group, picking up five points.

The Lionesses opened their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Zambia, before playing another 1-1 draw with Togo. They did, however, beat Tunisia 2-0 in their last group match.

The Falcons are the most successful team in WAFCON, with the most titles (nine) and the most wins (53), with Cameroon finishing on the losing side on three occasions where the Falcons have triumphed.
