Meanwhile, the Command foiled an attempted kidnapping of a man and his family in the Bassa local government area of ​​the state.

According to the statement issued by the State Police Command, the unfortunate incident occurred around 11:00 p.m. Friday when a gang of kidnappers stormed the resident of a certain Mr. Mark Inkasu and took attempted to force him and two other family members into a waiting vehicle.

It has been pointed out that Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Bassa Division SP James Yekubu received a call from a concerned citizen that unknown gunmen believed to be kidnappers were operating at the home of a certain Mark Inkasu.

"After receiving this report, the DPO mobilized his men and rushed to the scene. Upon sighting the patrol vehicle, the thugs, in their cowardice, began shooting at our police personnel. back, our team fearlessly engaged them. Sensing the danger that was about to overtake them, the thugs fled into a nearby bush with gunshot wounds.”

The State Commissioner of Police therefore directed the residents of Bassa LGA to continue with their lawful activities, as normalcy has since been restored to the area.
