Inuwa said this at the closing ceremony of a five-day training on digital literacy for the Mainstream Rural Women Participation and Gender Techpreneurship and the provision of IT tools for 60 participants organized by NITDA in the city from Oyo, Oyo.

The NITDA DG, which was represented by Ag. Director of Corporate Planning and Strategy, Dr. Aristotle Onumo, also urged participants to use the knowledge and skills the training provided them to build careers and new futures in the space. the digital economy.

Inuwa described the training program as a way to "empower young people and stimulate creativity to enhance the studious skills of our young people so that they can play their vital role in the digital economy space. ".

The training facilitator and chairman of the House Communications Committee, the Honorable Prince Akeem Adeyemi, praised the efforts of the Agency and its parent ministry, the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, to ensure that digital culture penetrates every nook and cranny of the country.

He said, "NITDA has lived up to expectations in ensuring that the economy of this country is driven not only by oil, but also by ICT."

Adeyemi advised the young people to use these skills and knowledge the training has given them and make sure the community also benefits.

“We will not rest on our oars until a critical mass of our young people benefit from digital literacy,” he added.

Participants in the five-day training were provided with a laptop computer, an internet key and a cash allowance for the creation of micro-enterprises.
