This is the message that Jay Roberts, who worked as a senior cabin crew for Emirates, posted on his Facebook page - A Fly Guy's Crew Network. And the answers came in droves and fast from flight attendants around the world eager to know what passenger behaviors annoy them the most.

Are you guilty of any of them?

A very repeated complaint was the lack of response from passengers when greeted.

"[I hate it when passengers] don't respond to my hello when I greet them on the plane," one crew member said. Another resents passengers' lack of thanks or smiles when they disembark.

Onboarding on the phone or in a video chat, or having "headphones when I try to inform you or talk to you", also goes wrong.

Mr Roberts himself agrees with these sentiments, telling MailOnline Travel: "The main thing a passenger can do to start off on the wrong foot is to avoid eye contact or ignoring a basic greeting when I say hello to them.

'In addition to being rude, it's disrespectful to the role of the crew as a safety professional...
