Managing director of Frank Nweke's gubernatorial campaign steps down

The gubernatorial campaigns of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate in Enugu State, Mr Frank Nweke jr, suffered a setback on Thursday when his chief campaign officer, Dr Chinweuba Onah , resigned from his post.

Chinweuba, a lawyer appointed August 10 to coordinate the campaigns, said his decision to step down "with immediate effect" followed irreconcilable differences in the way things were done, including ideologies.

Announcing his resignation in a letter he sent to Nweke, which he also made available to Enugu journalists, he told the gubernatorial candidate that although his nomination letter clearly defined his role as campaign chief executive, but the "little time I had in that capacity was awful to say the least, because you didn't seem to understand the huge political capital and huge human resources advantage you had. »

Chinweuba added: "Sadly, I am writing; resolved to very respectfully and happily tender my resignation as Chief Campaign Officer effective immediately as it is clear that we have irreconcilable differences in the way we view and let's do things including ideologies. To stay behind would amount to a distraction on both sides, hence the need for us as individuals to move forward in our various endeavors unhindered.< /p>

"I am compelled to take this difficult and painful step, first to free you to spread ready hands around you more effectively in the pursuit of your campaign, second and foremost to preserve our most cherished neo relationship which should survive this difficult decision.

"Please accept this resignation for whatever value you may make of it and be sure that you have the best assurances of my sincerest greetings and prayers as you pursue your dream at Enugu Lion Building - in 2023.

"Also allow me to thank you very much for the rare opportunity given to me in the first place to serve in the exalted but arduous office of Campaign General Manager of one of the major political parties in Nigeria before the 2023 general election. Opportunities like this don't come around too often and I can never take them for granted. I'm bold to say that it was a great school term for me."
